Contact us

  • In the app: Help & feedback › Write to us. No sign-in needed. With “Include diagnostics” on, we can find the cause faster; our replies show up under “My reports” on the same page.
  • Email: support@moqikey.com

Join the test

MoqiKey is not on Google Play yet. It is in testing.

  • Email support@moqikey.com, say you’d like to join, and tell us which Android phone you use.
  • You need a phone with Android 8.0 or later. There is no iPhone version.
  • We’ll write back with how to install it.
  • Test versions can have bugs. If something goes wrong, Help & feedback in the app is the fastest way to tell us.

Common questions

The keyboard doesn’t show up, or I can’t type what I want

Open MoqiKey and finish the first two steps of “Get started” on the home screen: turn on MoqiKey in system settings, then switch to MoqiKey. Turn on the input methods you want under “Keyboard settings”, language by language. The globe key switches between them; hold it to slide straight to the one you want. To switch to another keyboard app, tap the keyboard icon in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.

Cangjie (with Quick), Stroke, Cantonese Pinyin and the Japanese, Korean, Thai and Vietnamese keyboards need a “language pack”, which downloads the first time you turn one on, so be online. If the keyboard shows “Needs a language pack first”, tap “Download”; you can type once it’s done.

How do I use the MOQI assistant?

In your chat app, long-press their message and tap “Copy” (if they sent several, copy them one by one). Then tap the MOQI assistant on the keyboard’s toolbar and choose “Understand them” or “Help me write”. MOQI can also read a chat screenshot.

Do I need to sign in for MOQI AI?

MOQI AI may ask you to sign in with Google, so everyone’s daily count is kept straight and misuse is harder. When it does, sign in from Account at the top of the app’s home screen; you confirm you are 18 or older when you do. Typing, word suggestions, handwriting and the clipboard work without signing in.

I’ve used up today’s AI requests

Each phone and each account has a daily AI limit, and it resets the next day. The app’s Usage page shows how much you’ve used today.

MOQI AI keeps failing or can’t connect

First check that you’re online. A VPN, an ad blocker or a company network sometimes blocks the connection; try mobile data instead. “Test connection” in “AI & key” shows where the problem is. If it still doesn’t work, write to us; including diagnostics helps us find the cause faster.

How do I turn off auto-translate or style learning?

Turn off “Auto-translate copied messages” and “MOQI AI voice typing” in Settings › AI & key, and style learning in My style. When content is sent to the server is listed in the Privacy Policy.

A reply from MOQI was wrong or inappropriate

Tap “Report this reply” under MOQI’s reply. You’ll see exactly what will be sent before anything goes; you can also choose “Keep on phone”.

Will I lose my data if I change phones or reinstall?

Your people, style and learned words are stored only on this phone. Before you change phones or reinstall, export them in “Move your data” to a password-protected file, then import it on the new phone to carry on.

Delete your account

  • In the app: Account › Delete account, then confirm with the same Google Account. It is deleted right away and cannot be undone.
  • If you can’t use the app (for example, you lost your phone): fill in the email you sign in with on the account deletion page. We handle it within 7 days: we first email that address to confirm it is you, then delete the account.
  • If you have a MoqiKey Plus subscription: deleting your account does not cancel your Google Play subscription or refund it. Cancel it first under “Payments & subscriptions” in Google Play, then delete the account.
  • Data on your phone (People profiles, your style, learned words, settings) is not affected; uninstall the app to delete it.
  • What is deleted and what is kept is in section 14 of the Privacy Policy.

What we will never ask you for

MoqiKey will never ask you, by email, message, phone or in the app, for:

  • a password, including your Google Account password
  • a text-message code, sign-in code or any one-time password
  • a card or bank account number (paid plans are paid only through Google Play)
  • a money transfer, or for you to buy points or gift cards
  • payment for a redeem code (MoqiKey’s redeem codes are only ever given away free)

If someone claiming to be MoqiKey asks for any of these, don’t give it, and tell us at support@moqikey.com.

Report a security problem

If you find a security problem in the MoqiKey app, server or website, please email support@moqikey.com and keep it private until we have fixed it.

Data used on this site

The Zhuyin keyboard you can try on the home page uses a character table from libchewing-data (LGPL-2.1-or-later, Copyright (c) libchewing Core Team), the same source as the app’s Zhuyin dictionary. The open-source software and data in the app are listed in the app under About & licenses.

Before you hit send, ask MOQI.
